Introduction to “Kobe Roman Kikou”

 

This is a guidebook that introduces recommended sightseeing spots, restaurants, and hotels, centering on a map of Kobe city. Pick it up and take a walk with a map in hand.

Kobe City  Area Map

Kobe City developed into an international city with the influx of Western culture after the opening of the Port of Kobe in 1868.The city is characterized by its multicultural blend of cultures, with its history still strongly evident in its Ijinkan(foreign residences) and Nankinmachi (Nankin Town). It is also a tourist destination where visitors can enjoy gourmet foods such as Kobe beef and sweets, as well as beautiful scenery surrounded by the sea and mountains.

Sannomiya/Kitano area

There are many sightseeing spots around Kobe Sannomiya Station, such as Kitano Ijinkan-gai where you can enjoy the exotic atmosphere, Ikuta Shrine, which is popular for matchmaking and fulfillment in love, and Venus Village, where you can see the splendid night view of Kobe when you climb up from Suwayama Park. Please try sightseeing around Sannomiya Kitano.

  This is a park where a part of the Meriken Wharf (60 meters) that was damaged by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake has been preserved in its original state and made available for viewing.   BE KOBE Monument was installed in the Meriken Park to commemorate the 150th anniversary of opening the Port of KOBE in 2017.It is a particularly popular photo spot in Meriken Park, which is always crowded with people.

  This is an outdoor bath where you can enjoy Arima’s famous hot springs, and you can enjoy the hot springs that have carved out a history as a venerable former hot spring since ancient times.   This is a famous fall foliage spot in Arima, Hyogo Prefecture, where the city of Kobe developed a park in 1951 on the site of Zuihoji Temple, a temple of the Obaku sect that was abandoned in the early Meiji period.The stone Go board used by Taiko Hideyoshi is located there.
